The PWC presents as its winter concert a program that plays with the symbolism of the number seven. Within the seven sections of the concert, we will feature the festive Seven Joys of Christmas by Kirke Mechem, and the sonorous seven movements of Autumn Landscapes by renowned composer Veljo Tormis. Plainchant, pieces from the classical repertory, and contemporary works of a playful nature complete the program. Please join us for a concert that promises something for everyone and is sure to add joy to your holiday season.
Fall under our spell of the Peninsula Women's Chorus. Our spring concert enchants with Lili Boulanger's "Les Sirčnes," provokes with Arne Mellnäs's avant-garde "Aglepta," and charms with Francis Poulenc's "Petites Voix." Other featured works include the premiere of "Martes" by local composer Joseph Gregorio, two South American folk songs -- the spicy "Doņa Ubensa" and the soothing "Duerme Negrito," and audience favorites "Cape Breton Lullaby" and Brian Holmes's "Let Evening Come."
