How do we arrive at the joys of spring? In our Journey to Spring, join us on a magic ride, from the primal spells and incantations of "Urok" by Slovenian composer Lojze Lebic, to the delight of exuberant recorder accompaniment in le Jeune's "Welcome to Spring". Slovenian repertoire from our recent European tour is featured alongside our special American section, which includes settings of e.e. cummings' poetry: Vincent Persichetti's Spring Cantata, Gwyneth Walker's "I thank you God" and "in time of daffodils" by Kirstina Rasmussen. We are thrilled to present the world premiere of Ripple by Ted Hearne. The audience is invited to attend a post-concert discussion with Mr. Hearne at the May 12 concert at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Palo Alto. Journey with us from the mysterious to the sublime!
